UPI Down: Hundreds of Indian users are going through interruptions when making on -line payments through Paytm, Google Play and other platforms. This is the second interruption in two weeks. Previously, users reported similar problems with on -line payments. According to Downtor, the interruption hit the peak at night, preventing customers from making payments, transferring funds or using the app.
More than 64% of users complained of funds transfer, 28% of payments and the remaining 8% complained about the problems related to the application. The SBI, who suffered a similar interruption yesterday, is also having problems. The National Corporation of Payments of India (NPCI), which manages the UPI system, did not recognize the problem at the time of writing.
The reason for the interruption is also unknown at the moment. The interruption seems to be the result of a technical failure, with some users reporting that the deducted values will be reimbursed. The SBI suffered similar interruptions that the fiscal year ended on April 1. The NPCI acknowledged intermittent declines, attributing them to specific issues of the bank, but ensured that the Core UPI system remained operational.
“Due to the conclusion of the financial year today, some banks are facing a decline in transactions. The UPI system is working well, and we are working with the respective banks for necessary prevention,” NPCI, who manages UPI, said on X on 1 April. In addition, SBI announced temporary service disruptions due to annual closing processes, in which Dowdater SBI reports an increase in mobile banking and fund transfer outage reports. However, some other banks experienced similar disruption.
