Anyone can now use the T-Mobile Starlink beta on a latest Samsung Galaxy phones

T-Mobile Starlink beta:Initially, only T-Mobile subscribers had access to the Starlink beta. Now that it’s open to everyone, even Verizon and AT&T customers can test it out—and the best part is that it costs nothing.

To use the Starlink beta, you don’t need a phone with satellite service. The majority of Samsung Galaxy phones that were released within the last four years will be compatible with the service, as T-Mobile has confirmed that it works with many smartphones. We already know that the Starlink service was tested on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Compatible with the latest Samsung Galaxy phones

In areas of the United States where traditional cell towers cannot provide coverage, T-Mobile Starlink uses the latter’s satellite network to deliver cell service over 500,000 square miles.

U.S. owners of Samsung Galaxy phones can register for the beta via T-Mobile’s website. Since T-Mobile is no longer limiting the service to its subscribers only, they can also be on Verizon or AT&T.

Users will be able to send and receive text messages for free when they are connected to the Starlink service. Additionally, group texts and responses are supported. Data usage, voice calls, and photo sending are not supported at this time but will be soon.

A trial version of this service is available through July 2025. Customers of Verizon and AT&T will be able to use it for $20 per month after the free trial period expires. The service will remain free for T-Mobile customers on its Go5G Next plan, but it will be available to those on other plans for $15 a month.

No settings need to be manually changed by users. When their phone is outside of a cell tower’s coverage area, it will automatically connect to the T-Mobile Starlink network. It goes without saying that this service is only helpful for people who frequently find themselves in isolated locations with spotty coverage. Those who spend the majority of their time in large cities or towns with extensive cell coverage will find it useless.
